Lange Family

Got to spend some time hanging out with the Lange family, running around, telling stories, trying to keep the kids looking at the camera. We had a blast and even ended the day with ice cream cones! Enjoy.

Duffys Again

This family was the first photo shoot I ever did. The kids are now huge so we decided to do another one. Running, jumping off things, climbing every wall/tree/planter… no wonder we all got home and just fell asleep. And yes, my nephews are [still] cuter than Will’s.

I’ve been hanging out with this family on a weekly basis for about 6 months or so now and we finally got to do a photo shoot together. And by photo shoot I mean walking around the Rose Garden, cracking jokes, throwing ideas ideas around, and even hanging out with the local gardener for a bit. Then they fed me a delicious breakfast after we finished the shoot. Oh, and we decided to take some pictures along the way…

Vincent Kartheiser

My friend Daniel Garcia runs Content Magazine and booked an interview with Vincent Kartheiser, an actor famous for his role as Pete Campbell in AMC’s Mad Men. Daniel asked me to assist with the interview and photo shoot for the latest issue of Content: Education 4.4. We had a great interview, but ran out of time for the photo shoot. We did a blitz shoot where I took exactly 11 pictures over Daniel’s shoulder in less than five minutes. Somehow, one turned out half way decent and got printed in the magazine! I gotta run now… need to update my LinkedIn profile to say I’m a Published Photographer. Oh, and go pick up a copy of the magazine.

Mansion Ball

I received this invitation, which sounded intriguing:

The three remaining Crawford brothers request your presence in an evening of hors d’oeuvres, dancing, and cocktails. Renovations to the mansion are nearly complete for this night of fun celebration. Formal attire is required.

What was more intriguing is that I don’t know any Crawfords. Three friends of mine went all out for their second annual joint birthday bash, this time with an old-school black-tie event. We called each other sir and madam, we did the waltz, and we made classy toasts to the birthday boys. All around a great night.

Here is my first try at a funbooth with make shift everything (bed sheets, stools stacked on chairs, shop lights, bedstand lights, etc). They even had an Instagram slideshow playing throughout the evening displaying photos the guests tagged with #mansionball. Really cool effect!

Will & Kim

My good friend Will surprised his girlfriend with a picnic dinner, dance floor, and leather couch in the middle of an old horse ranch. My assistant and I hid in the trees and fired away at their special moment. Glad I could be a part of this guys!

Awakening Church Launch

September 9th marked the official launch of a local church plant in San Jose and I was asked to document the day. The energy in the room sort of made it feel surreal as the friends, families, and supporters all gathered to send this group of folks out on their own for the very first time. Thanks for letting me be a part of it guys!

Awakening Church is being planted by Westgate Church and is led by Ryan Ingram and Jay Kim. Here’s a well-written post from Jay describing the reasoning behind this church plant. You can also check out the Awakening facebook page for the current stuff.

Twins!

Got to spend some time with this family last week. The twins are just a few months old and squirm around at every chance they get while their big sister runs around the house getting towels, diapers, and blankets to help Mommy. Now if they could only figure out that whole “sleep” thing…

Byrne Bridal Shower

I was invited to shoot this bridal shower for some good friends of mine. They put it all together themselves: decorations, food, and even a surprise appearance by the father. Completely out of control and completely worth it!
